Vegans, Vegitarians, and Meat eaters love animals.

So, I've noticed a fair amount of people in the class are vegan, myself included, and along with the verbal discussion in class, to the posts on this blog, are all often sided to a pro-vegan-don't-eat-meat fashion.
I thought now would be a good time to establish the fact that not only should people who eat meat feel less connected to animals, not just in the class, but everywhere, and that being vegan does not create a hierarchy of animal support and loving.
For the most part, having the ability to be vegan is a privilege, it necessitates the ability to have options in your dietary habits.

I guess I don't know where I am going with this...
Maybe it's because I haven't been vegan very long, and prior me becoming vegan I knew a lot of people who made me feel bad. And I am not implying that it happens in this class, but at times it can be intimidating.

I like this class a lot. And even though it is just a fantasy, I have thought about how cool it would be to have "ANIMALS & HUMANS 2: Electric Boogaloo"

As an omnivore myself, I appreciate this post a lot. I have felt a little intimidated with all the vegan discussion, but at the same time I do appreciate it. I've learned a lot from the class discussions on that topic. At times, though, I feel like I have to defend my own eating habits and made to feel guilty. For a lot of people, that guilt can be off putting. I admit, it shuts me down sometimes too. I think that's a gut reaction for most people, unfortunately.

P.S. Also, if we make it three quarters it should be titled "Animals and Humans 3: Tokyo Drift."

Yes, thanks for this post!

I'm sorry if I made anyone feel uncomfortable with any prior blog postings. I sincerely apologize, it was not my intention.

You are right there can be no "hierarchy of animal support and loving" if there is ever going to be any constructive change!!! unity of all animal lovers!
